Project Limitless is the youth empowerment program of Nita's Silent Hands, Inc., built around the conviction that Deaf youth deserve the room, the microphone, and the resources. We partner with Deaf-serving schools and the broader Deaf community to deliver the work that actually moves a life forward.
Stand Alongside Project LimitlessProject Limitless is the youth empowerment program of Nita's Silent Hands, Inc. It exists because Deaf youth deserve programming designed for them, not adapted from work designed for someone else. Mentorship that honors their language. Identity work that honors their culture. Resources that show up when it matters most. A community of adults who treat them as protagonists.
The program runs in partnership with Deaf-serving schools and the broader Deaf community. The NC School for the Deaf has been our anchor partner for four years and counting. From there, the work is expanding into new programming designed alongside the youth and families it serves.
Project Limitless does not exist to make Deaf youth feel grateful. It exists to make sure they walk into adulthood knowing they were seen, supported, and equipped.
Four years and counting as a sponsor and partner of the NC School for the Deaf, including ongoing support of the annual prom and the development of expanded programming.
Annual prom support including hair, makeup, dresses, and styling for NCSD students. Bookbag drives delivering school supplies to Deaf youth heading into a new academic year.
In development. A program that puts cameras and storytelling tools into the hands of Deaf youth so they can tell their own stories on their own terms.
Ongoing connection between Deaf youth and Deaf adults who model what is possible. Identity development rooted in Deaf culture, Deaf language, and Deaf joy.
For four consecutive years, Nita's Silent Hands has been a sponsor and partner of the annual prom at the NC School for the Deaf. We bring hair, makeup, dresses, and styling so every student walks into their prom feeling seen and celebrated. Mentorship moments live inside the work. Adults from the Deaf community show up alongside students and the night becomes more than a dance. It becomes a ceremony of dignity.
In our first two years of programming, we delivered bookbags packed with school supplies to Deaf youth heading into a new academic year. The drive met a real need and built community around it. As Project Limitless evolves, the bookbag work returns in new forms designed alongside the families and educators it serves.
Cameras and storytelling tools in the hands of Deaf youth, training and mentorship from filmmakers who honor their language and culture, and a platform for the work to be seen. The Youth Film Initiative is the next chapter of Project Limitless. Designed alongside the youth and families it will serve. Built so Deaf youth tell their own stories on their own terms.
Charity logic teaches Deaf youth that the world is doing them a favor. Project Limitless refuses that posture. The youth we serve are not behind. They are not broken. They are not in need of fixing or saving or any of the language that small nonprofits use when they have not yet done the work of seeing the community they claim to serve.
Project Limitless exists because Deaf youth deserve programming designed around their language, their culture, their ambitions, and their joy. Adults who already see them as whole. Resources that show up because they are owed, not because they are gifted. Project Limitless treats Deaf youth as the protagonists of their own lives. Everything else flows from that.
Project Limitless is one expression of that community. It runs because people show up. Pick the path that fits and start now.
